The Story of the Neera Super Cleanse The origins of the Neera Super Cleanse start with the visionary alternative healer, Stanley Burroughs. Back in the 1950s Stanley Burroughs was a pioneer in the field of alternative medicine in the United States. In the early 70s he created a diet using lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper to help a patient heal a stomach ulcer. Stanley Burroughs discovered that the diet had many other health benefits and in 1976 he published his now famous book, “The Master Cleanser.” Also know as the Lemonade Diet, it quickly became a classic in alternative health literature and has been a best seller at health food stores ever since. The great success and widespread popularity of “The Master Cleanser” spread to Europe where it became widely popular in the 1980s and 90s. As described on the Madal Bal Syrup page, the team of alternative health care practitioners who spread the diet around Europe, improved the formula of the syrup, naming it after their company Madal Bal. The Madal Bal Syrup has since become widely popular around the world with over 3 million cans sold. In 2001 the diet finally came back to the U.S. as the Neera Super Cleanse, imported by Supreme Joy Distributors. Neera is a Sanskrit word which roughly translates to palm syrup, but its fuller meaning is “life essence of the palm tree.” It is the life force of the palm tree, the energy that would become the flower and the fruit of the tree. Neera has been used for thousands of years in traditional Indian Ayurvedic medicine. Neera is the essence of the Neera Super Cleanse.
